1.  And it came to pass after the plague, that the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,
2.  Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their fathers' house, all that are able to go to war in Israel.
3.  And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,
4.  Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt.
5.  Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben; Hanoch, of whom cometh the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:
6.  Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
7.  These are the families of the Reubenites: and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.
8.  And the sons of Pallu; Eliab.
9.  And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram, which were famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD:
10.  And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign.
11.  Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not.
12.  The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites: of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites: of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites:
13.  Of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites: of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.
14.  These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.
15.  The children of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites: of Haggi, the family of the Haggites: of Shuni, the family of the Shunites:
16.  Of Ozni, the family of the Oznites: of Eri, the family of the Erites:
17.  Of Arod, the family of the Arodites: of Areli, the family of the Arelites.
18.  These are the families of the children of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.
19.  The sons of Judah were Er and Onan: and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
20.  And the sons of Judah after their families were; of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites: of Pharez, the family of the Pharzites: of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.
21.  And the sons of Pharez were; of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.
22.  These are the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.
23.  Of the sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites: of Pua, the family of the Punites:
24.  Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites: of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.
25.  These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.
26.  Of the sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Sardites: of Elon, the family of the Elonites: of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.
27.  These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.
28.  The sons of Joseph after their families were Manasseh and Ephraim.
29.  Of the sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites: and Machir begat Gilead: of Gilead come the family of the Gileadites.
30.  These are the sons of Gilead: of Jeezer, the family of the Jeezerites: of Helek, the family of the Helekites:
31.  And of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites: and of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites:
32.  And of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites: and of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
33.  And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
34.  These are the families of Manasseh, and those that were numbered of them, fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.
35.  These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites: of Becher, the family of the Bachrites: of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
36.  And these are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.
37.  These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.
38.  The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites: of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites: of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites:
39.  Of Shupham, the family of the Shuphamites: of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
40.  And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: of Ard, the family of the Ardites: and of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
41.  These are the sons of Benjamin after their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and six hundred.
42.  These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.
43.  All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were threescore and four thousand and four hundred.
44.  Of the children of Asher after their families: of Jimna, the family of the Jimnites: of Jesui, the family of the Jesuites: of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.
45.  Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites: of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
46.  And the name of the daughter of Asher was Sarah.
47.  These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them; who were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
48.  Of the sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites: of Guni, the family of the Gunites:
49.  Of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites: of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
50.  These are the families of Naphtali according to their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.
51.  These were the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty.
52.  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
53.  Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
54.  To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.
55.  Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.
56.  According to the lot shall the possession thereof be divided between many and few.
57.  And these are they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites: of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites: of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
58.  These are the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram.
59.  And the name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom her mother bare to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.
60.  And unto Aaron was born Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
61.  And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the LORD.
62.  And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all males from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.
63.  These are they that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
64.  But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
65.  For the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

1 그 재앙이 있은 뒤에 {주}께서 모세와 제사장 아론의 아들 엘르아살에게 말씀하여 이르시되,

2 이스라엘 자손 온 회중의 총수를 두루 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 조사하되 이스라엘 안에서 스무 살이 넘어 능히 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자의 수를 조사하라, 하시니

3 모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 여리고에 가까운 요르단 옆 모압 평야에서 그들에게 말하여 이르기를,

4 {주}께서 이집트 땅에서 나온 모세와 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하신 대로 스무 살이 넘은 백성의 총수를 조사하라, 하니라.

5 ¶ 이스라엘의 맏아들은 르우벤이니라. 르우벤 자손은 하녹에게서 난 하녹 족속의 가족과 발루에게서 난 발루 족속의 가족과

6 헤스론에게서 난 헤스론 족속의 가족과 갈미에게서 난 갈미 족속의 가족이니라.

7 이들은 르우벤 족속의 가족들이니 그들 중에서 계수된 자가 사만 삼천칠백삼십 명이더라.

8 발루의 아들들은 엘리압이요,

9 엘리압의 아들들은 느무엘과 다단과 아비람이니라. 그 다단과 아비람은 회중 가운데서 유명하였으나 그들이 {주}를 대적하여 싸울 때에 고라의 무리에 들어가서 모세와 아론을 대적하여 싸우매

10 땅이 입을 벌려 그들과 고라를 함께 삼키므로 그 무리가 죽었고 그때에 불이 이백오십 명을 멸하여 그들이 표적이 되었으나

11 그럼에도 불구하고 고라의 자손들은 죽지 아니하였더라.

12 ¶ 시므온의 아들들은 그들의 가족대로 이러하니 느무엘에게서 난 느무엘 족속의 가족과 야민에게서 난 야민 족속의 가족과 야긴에게서 난 야긴 족속의 가족과

13 세라에게서 난 세라 족속의 가족과 사울에게서 난 사울 족속의 가족이니라.

14 이들은 시므온 족속의 가족들로서 이만 이천이백 명이니라.

15 ¶ 갓 자손은 그들의 가족대로 이러하니 스본에게서 난 스본 족속의 가족과 학기에게서 난 학기 족속의 가족과 수니에게서 난 수니 족속의 가족과

16 오스니에게서 난 오스니 족속의 가족과 에리에게서 난 에리 족속의 가족과

17 아롯에게서 난 아롯 족속의 가족과 아렐리에게서 난 아렐리 족속의 가족이니라.

18 이들은 갓 자손의 가족들로서 그들 중에서 계수된 자들에 따라 사만 오백 명이니라.

19 ¶ 유다의 아들들은 엘과 오난이더라. 엘과 오난은 가나안 땅에서 죽었고

20 유다의 아들들은 그들의 가족대로 이러하니 셀라에게서 난 셀라 족속의 가족과 베레스에게서 난 베레스 족속의 가족과 세라에게서 난 세라 족속의 가족이며

21 또 베레스의 아들들은 이러하니 헤스론에게서 난 헤스론 족속의 가족과 하물에게서 난 하물 족속의 가족이니라.

22 이들은 유다의 가족들로서 그들 중에서 계수된 자들에 따라 칠만 육천오백 명이니라.

23 ¶ 잇사갈의 아들들은 그들의 가족대로 이러하니 돌라에게서 난 돌라 족속의 가족과 부아에게서 난 부아 족속의 가족과

24 야숩에게서 난 야숩 족속의 가족과 시므론에게서 난 시므론 족속의 가족이니라.

25 이들은 잇사갈의 가족들로서 그들 중에서 계수된 자들에 따라 육만 사천삼백 명이니라.

26 ¶ 스불론의 아들들은 그들의 가족대로 이러하니 세렛에게서 난 세렛 족속의 가족과 엘론에게서 난 엘론 족속의 가족과 얄르엘에게서 난 얄르엘 족속의 가족이니라.

27 이들은 스불론 족속의 가족들로서 그들 중에서 계수된 자들에 따라 육만 오백 명이니라.

28 ¶ 요셉의 아들들은 그들의 가족대로 므낫세와 에브라임이요,

29 므낫세의 아들들 중에서 마길에게서 난 것은 마길 족속의 가족이니라. 마길이 길르앗을 낳았고 길르앗에게서 길르앗 족속의 가족이 나니라.

30 길르앗의 아들들은 이러하니 예에셀에게서 난 예에셀 족속의 가족과 헬렉에게서 난 헬렉 족속의 가족과 31 아스리엘에게서 난 아스리엘 족속의 가족과 세겜에게서 난 세겜 족속의 가족과

32 스미다에게서 난 스미다 족속의 가족과 헤벨에게서 난 헤벨 족속의 가족이니라.

33 ¶ 헤벨의 아들 슬로브핫은 아들이 없고 딸뿐이었는데 슬로브핫의 딸들의 이름은 말라와 노아와 호글라와 밀가와 디르사더라.

34 이들은 므낫세의 가족들이니 그들 중에서 계수된 자들이 오만 이천칠백 명이니라.

35 ¶ 에브라임의 아들들은 그들의 가족대로 이러하니 수델라에게서 난 수델라 족속의 가족과 베겔에게서 난 베겔 족속의 가족과 다한에게서 난 다한 족속의 가족이며

36 수델라의 아들들은 이러하니 에란에게서 난 에란 족속의 가족이니라.

37 이들은 에브라임의 아들들의 가족들로서 그들 중에서 계수된 자들에 따라 삼만 이천오백 명이니라. 이들은 그들의 가족들에 따른 요셉의 아들들이니라.

38 ¶ 베냐민의 아들들은 그들의 가족대로 이러하니 벨라에게서 난 벨라 족속의 가족과 아스벨에게서 난 아스벨 족속의 가족과 아히람에게서 난 아히람 족속의 가족과

39 수밤에게서 난 수밤 족속의 가족과 후밤에게서 난 후밤 족속의 가족이며

40 벨라의 아들들은 아릇과 나아만이더라. 아릇에게서 아릇 족속의 가족이, 나아만에게서 나아만 족속의 가족이 났으니

41 이들은 그들의 가족들에 따른 베냐민의 아들들이니라. 그들 중에서 계수된 자가 사만 오천육백 명이더라.

42 ¶ 단의 아들들은 그들의 가족대로 이러하니라. 수함에게서 수함 족속의 가족이 났으니 이들은 그들의 가족대로 단의 가족들이니라.

43 그들 중에서 계수된 자들에 따른 수함 족속의 모든 가족이 육만 사천사백 명이더라.

44 ¶ 아셀의 자손들에게서 그들의 가족대로 난 자가 이러하니 임나에게서 난 임나 족속의 가족과 예수이에게서 난 예수이 족속의 가족과 브리아에게서 난 브리아 족속의 가족이며

45 또 브리아의 아들들 중에서 헤벨에게서 난 헤벨 족속의 가족과 말기엘에게서 난 말기엘 족속의 가족이며

46 아셀의 딸의 이름은 사라더라.

47 이들은 아셀의 아들들의 가족들로서 그들 중에서 계수된 자들에 따라 오만 삼천사백 명이더라.

48 ¶ 납달리의 아들들은 그들의 가족대로 이러하니 야세엘에게서 난 야세엘 족속의 가족과 구니에게서 난 구니 족속의 가족과

49 예셀에게서 난 예셀 족속의 가족과 실렘에게서 난 실렘 족속의 가족이니라.

50 이들은 그들의 가족들에 따른 납달리의 가족들이니 그들 중에서 계수된 자가 사만 오천사백 명이더라. 51 이들은 이스라엘 자손 중에서 계수된 자들로서 육십만 천칠백삼십 명이더라.

52 ¶ {주}께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되,

53 이들에게 이름 수에 따라 땅을 나누어 주어 상속 재산으로 삼게 할지니라.

54 너는 수가 많은 자에게는 상속 재산을 더 많이 주고 수가 적은 자에게는 상속 재산을 더 적게 줄지니 각 사람에게서 계수된 자들에 따라 각 사람에게 그의 상속 재산을 줄지니라.

55 그럼에도 불구하고 그 땅은 제비뽑아 나눌지니 그들의 조상들의 지파들의 이름들 수에 따라 그들이 상속받게 할 것이요,

56 수가 많은 자와 수가 적은 자 사이에 그것의 소유를 제비뽑아 나눌 것이니라.

57 ¶ 레위 사람들 중에서 계수된 자는 그들의 가족대로 이러하니 게르손에게서 난 게르손 족속의 가족과 고핫에게서 난 고핫 족속의 가족과 므라리에게서 난 므라리 족속의 가족이니라.

58 레위 사람들의 가족들은 이러하니 립니 족속의 가족과 헤브론 족속의 가족과 말리 족속의 가족과 무시 족속의 가족과 고라 족속의 가족이니라. 고핫은 아므람을 낳았으며

59 아므람의 아내의 이름은 레위의 딸 요게벳인데 그녀의 어머니가 그녀를 이집트에서 레위에게 낳았더라. 그녀가 아론과 모세와 그들의 누이 미리암을 아므람에게 낳았더라.

60 아론에게는 나답과 아비후와 엘르아살과 이다말이 태어났는데

61 나답과 아비후는 이상한 불을 {주} 앞에 드리다가 죽었더라.

62 그들 중에서 난 지 한 달이 넘어 계수된 모든 남자가 이만 삼천 명이더라. 그들은 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 계수되지 아니하였으니 이는 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 그들에게 준 상속 재산이 없었기 때문이더라.

63 ¶ 이들은 모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 계수한 자들이니라. 그들이 여리고에 가까운 요르단 옆 모압 평야에서 이스라엘 자손을 계수하였으나

64 이들 가운데는 모세와 제사장 아론이 시내 광야에서 이스라엘 자손을 계수할 때에 그들이 계수한 자들 중의 한 사람도 있지 아니하였으니

65 {주}께서 그들에 관하여 이르시기를, 그들이 반드시 광야에서 죽으리라, 하셨으므로 여분네의 아들 갈렙과 눈의 아들 여호수아 외에는 그들 중의 한 사람도 남지 아니하였더라.

3. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 여리고 맞은편 요단 가 모압 평지에서 그들에게 전하여 이르되

4. 여호와께서 애굽 땅에서 나온 모세와 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하신 대로 너희는 이십 세 이상 된 자를 계수하라 하니라

5. 이스라엘의 장자는 르우벤이라 르우벤 자손은 하녹에게서 난 하녹 종족과 발루에게서 난 발루 종족과

6. 헤스론에게서 난 헤스론 종족과 갈미에게서 난 갈미 종족이니

7. 이는 르우벤 종족들이라 계수된 자가 사만 삼천칠백삼십 명이었더라

8. 발루의 아들은 엘리압이요

9. 엘리압의 아들은 느무엘과 다단과 아비람이라 이 다단과 아비람은 회중 가운데서 부름을 받은 자들이니 고라의 무리에 들어가서 모세와 아론을 거슬러 여호와께 반역할 때에

10. 땅이 그 입을 벌려서 그 무리와 고라를 삼키매 그들이 죽었고 당시에 불이 이백오십 명을 삼켜 징표가 되게 하였으나

11. 고라의 아들들은 죽지 아니하였더라

12. 시므온 자손의 종족들은 이러하니 느무엘에게서 난 느무엘 종족과 야민에게서 난 야민 종족과 야긴에게서 난 야긴 종족과

13. 세라에게서 난 세라 종족과 사울에게서 난 사울 종족이라

14. 이는 시므온의 종족들이니 계수된 자가 이만 이천이백 명이었더라

39. 스부밤에게서 난 스부밤 종족과 후밤에게서 난 후밤 종족이며

40. 벨라의 아들들은 아릇과 나아만이라 아릇에게서 아릇 종족과 나아만에게서 나아만 종족이 났으니

41. 이는 그들의 종족을 따른 베냐민 자손이라 계수된 자가 사만 오천육백 명이었더라

42. 단 자손의 종족들은 이러하니라 수함에게서 수함 종족이 났으니 이는 그들의 종족을 따른 단 종족들이라

43. 수함 모든 종족의 계수된 자가 육만 사천사백 명이었더라

44. 아셀 자손의 종족들은 이러하니 임나에게서 난 임나 종족과 이스위에게서 난 이스위 종족과 브리아에게서 난 브리아 종족이며

45. 브리아의 자손 중 헤벨에게서 난 헤벨 종족과 말기엘에게서 난 말기엘 종족이며

46. 아셀의 딸의 이름은 세라라

47. 이는 아셀 자손의 종족들이니 계수된 자가 오만 삼천사백 명이었더라

48. 납달리 자손은 그들의 종족대로 이러하니 야셀에게서 난 야셀 종족과 구니에게서 난 구니 종족과

49. 예셀에게서 난 예셀 종족과 실렘에게서 난 실렘 종족이라

50. 이는 그들의 종족을 따른 납달리 종족들이니 계수된 자가 사만 오천사백 명이었더라

51. 이스라엘 자손의 계수된 자가 육십만 천칠백삼십 명이었더라

52. 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되

53. 이 명수대로 땅을 나눠 주어 기업을 삼게 하라

54. 수가 많은 자에게는 기업을 많이 줄 것이요 수가 적은 자에게는 기업을 적게 줄 것이니 그들이 계수된 수대로 각기 기업을 주되

55. 오직 그 땅을 제비 뽑아 나누어 그들의 조상 지파의 이름을 따라 얻게 할지니라

56. 그 다소를 막론하고 그들의 기업을 제비 뽑아 나눌지니라

57. 레위인으로 계수된 자들의 종족들은 이러하니 게르손에게서 난 게르손 종족과 고핫에게서 난 고핫 종족과 므라리에게서 난 므라리 종족이며

58. 레위 종족들은 이러하니 립니 종족과 헤브론 종족과 말리 종족과 무시 종족과 고라 종족이라 고핫은 아므람을 낳았으며

59. 아므람의 처의 이름은 요게벳이니 레위의 딸이요 애굽에서 레위에게서 난 자라 그가 아므람에게서 아론과 모세와 그의 누이 미리암을 낳았고
